"Joe" Whitmore

Lynn S. (Joe) Whitmore of Boulder City, NV passed away on May 15, 2014. He was born on October 11, 1930 in Salt Lake City, UT to Lynn and Pearl Perkins Whitmore. Joe served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean War. He married Sharon McIlrath on June 8, 1957 in Glenwood, Minnesota. They moved to Las Vegas in 1962 and later built a home in Boulder City in 1994.
Joe lived by the cowboy code. He loved reading and spending time with his wife. He enjoyed hunting and poker. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion. He worked and retired as an operating engineer of local 501.
Joe is survived by his wife Sharon Whitmore of Boulder City, NV; two daughters Laurie Lynn Berry of Sedona, AZ, Allyson Elizabeth Danas (Eric) of Sammamish, WA; four grandchildren Riley Berry, A. Lynn AhWah,(Adam) Kenten Danas, and Ian Danas.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at 8:40 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation in Joe Whitmore's name.
