John W. Donnelly age 53, a longtime resident of Boulder City passed away on June 4, 2012 surrounded by family. He was born on November 17, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Joseph and Rhea Donnelly. John served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Sopra, Japan and alway had a strong faith. John was an avid outdoors man that was highly skilled in rappelling, he enjoyed scuba diving, camping, hunting quail, deer and elk. He was an adventurous spirit and recently had opened his own business called Desert Rats which was a lifelong dream of his. He was an excellent public speaker and enjoyed teaching and writing.
John is survived by his wife Karen Donnelly of Boulder City, his parents Joseph and Rhea Donnelly of Boulder City, six children Crystal Smith of Boulder City, Jenell (Chuck) Busch of Henderson, Joshua (Megan) Donnelly of Rexburg, ID, Brenna Donnelly of Boulder City, Jessica Donnelly of Boulder City, Caitlin Donnelly of Boulder City; four siblings Sharon (Dale) Imlay, Colleen (Ron) Earl, Ilene (Mark) Ethington, Joseph (Lisa) Donnelly; four grandchildren Elle Busch, Deville Busch, Emma Puckett, and Ryan Puckett. He is preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth Tony.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2012 at 10:00 am at the Buchanan LDS Chapel. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 to 9:45.
