John Germano

John Louis Germano age 77 of Boulder City, NV passed away on January 11, 2013 at his home. He was born on December 31, 1935 in Brooklyn, NY to Giuseppe Germano and Maria Patrizio Germano. He came from a large family being one of eleven children. John joined the United States Army and served his country from 1958 to 1960. He married Lillian Sorgiano on February 11, 1956 in Brooklyn, NY. John worked as a truck driver in the tri-state area before retiring and moving to Boulder City in 1987. John loved sports both playing and watching. He was a great hockey player and softball player and was an avid fan of the New York Rangers and New York Yankees.

John is survived by his wife Lillian Germano; three children John (Patricia) Germano, Laura (Philip) Montemurro, Gerard Germano; a brother Carmine Germano; two sisters Maria Aranzullo, Betty Smetana; four granddaughters, Stephanie, Michele, Lauralee and Melissa, and a large extended family. John was predeceased by brothers Mikey, Anthony and Joe, and sisters Lucy Ramaglia, Rose Guastella, Helen Leonardi and Gloria Balducci.

Family held private funeral services and John was laid to rest at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
