He was born May 22,1950 in Mesquite, Nevada.

John was very proud to have served in the Army 1973-1987. Loved going to the cabin and riding the side by side all over Duck creek. His favorite time was with his family. John was always very Excited to go on many trips with Karma Adamson, he couldn’t wait to go back to San Diego Zoo. One of his favorite trips was Hawaii then to Mexico, when his niece Bree was married. He never stopped talking about that trip. John loved betting on football games with his son Jake, they would argue about how many extra points they would get on the game, the winner would get a big gulp. John would tell me Jake owes me 6 big gulps. John would always welcome his brothers Eric and William to visit anytime. They always had jokes and goofed off a lot laughing at each other.
John welcomed the Howlands to his family, they became very close Kirk (Dusty) 2 children. Kirk was his very best friend, cancer took Kirk away from us. But continued to love and care for them. And oh boy it was like clockwork to watch Mash, Jerry Springer, and any type of old western movies, he would stay Up until midnight or longer until that western was over.
While John was at the Ivins VA Home, he didn’t like it at first. But he met some of the most wonderful nurses and CNA’s and decided that’s were he needed to be. Thank you so much to all the caretakers especially a huge Thank you to Nurse Heather, CNA’s Coreen & Abby. He loved them. Every and all day John would have a new joke for anyone who visited him, or he would call and say hey do you want to hear a new joke, then he would say did ya get it? John will be greatly missed. Karma Adamson also took excellent care of John when he was home 2015-2025 and in the care center.
