John Douglas Sharp was born November 30, 1936, in Boulder City, to Everett and Grace (Imhoff) Sharp. A true Boulder City boy at heart, he was born in a tent house in the early days of the construction of the Hoover Dam. He was notoriously known for causing mischief with his brothers around town. A star football player for Boulder City High School, he helped win three state championships.
He married the love of his life, Barbara Mullins, in Boulder City in 1982. After working for Trans World Airlines for 34 years, he retired in 1992. He enjoyed hunting, amateur radio, and flying RC planes and was an incredible craftsman who renovated three homes. Most importantly, he was a great husband, father, and friend. He went through life with a twinkle in his eye and would help anyone without question.
John joined his father, mother, and 4 brothers when he passed away at age 87 on February 5, 2024. He’s survived by his wife, Barbara Sharp; brother, Curtis (Butch) Sharp; three children, Jerry Lovelady, Nikki King, and Jake Mullins; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Though he is missed dearly, his overwhelming love lives on in our hearts and memories.
A celebration of life was held on Thursday, February 8th with family and friends. We invite everyone to leave condolences or memories at www.starmortuary.com.
