Johnny Cuellar

Johnny Juarez Cuellar, age 96, passed away peacefully on July 12, 2013, in Boulder City, Nevada. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 16, 1917, to David Sr. and Carmen Cuellar. Fourth in a family of five children, he and his siblings Jose, David Jr., Richard and Nora were 'The Cuellars' of Simon Street in San Antonio. Johnny later served his country in the United States Air Force and retired in 1972 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He married Toyoko Yamada on March 19, 1958, at Saint Phillip's Catholic Church in San Antonio.

Johnny is survived by his wife Toyoko Cuellar of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister Nora (Martin) Herrera of Yuma, Arizona; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Johnny lived life to the fullest, loved a good laugh and was a friend to many. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 18, at the Boulder City Family Mortuary from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held Friday, July 19, at Saint Andrew's Catholic Church at 8:00 a.m. with burial following at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 9:20 a.m. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com .
