Jonathan Sherwood Holt, 72, of Ithaca, New York, passed away on July 24, 2023, in Henderson, NV. He was born on June 27, 1951. Jonathan, known for his captivating storytelling, had an extraordinary memory, always recalling the first and last names of the people he spoke about, even from his elementary school days. He had a deep love for nature, particularly the mountains, water, and trees. Jonathan cherished his children and grandchildren dearly.
Jonathan is survived by his siblings: Deborah Holt Heelis, Martha Rae Holt, Douglas Holt, Amy Holt and Ilya Wick, David and Jennifer Holt. He is also survived by his children: Griselda Campbell, Gabriela Holt-Munden, and Eliza Holt, along with his grandchildren: Jonathan Andrew Huerta, Jasmine Campbell, Juliana Campbell, Star Holt, Kora Munden, Irving Salas-Sanchez Jr., and Ethan Salas-Sanchez. He was preceded in death by his mother, Carolyn Rae Beissig, and his father, Sherwood Gebhart Holt.
Jonathan served in the Airforce for 3 years, 7 months, and 4 days, demonstrating his dedication and commitment to his country. After his military service, he pursued a career as a highly skilled machinist, excelling in his field.
In his free time, Jonathan found joy in writing poems and haikus, as well as indulging in his love for reading.
A ceremony honoring Jonathan's life will take place on August 18th at 10:30 am at the Veteran's Memorial Chapel in Boulder City. Following the service, a gathering will be held at the burial site.
In lieu of flowers, contributions towards supporting Jonathan's children and grandchildren would be greatly appreciated.
