Joseph Chavez Macias, 76, of Boulder City, NV died suddenly on August 14, 2016. He was born on December 23, 1939 in Melrose Park, IL to Manuela and Jose Macias.
Joey served in the U.S. Marines from 1957 to 1961. He was a retired ice cream maker at Good Humor / Breyers. He married Janet Harrelson, his best friend and love on August 7, 1965.
Joey was preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Manuela Macias and four sisters, Constance Macias, Gloria Ruiz, Angelina Salazar and Dolores Macias. He is survived by his wife and companion of 51 years Janet Macias and a sister Mary Carassco of Elmwood Park, IL; two children Anthony (Tina) Macias of Janesville, WI and Diane Felsenfeld of Boulder City, NV; and two loving grandsons Joseph Felsenfeld and Matthew Felsenfeld, both of Boulder City, NV.
Services will be held on Tuesday August 23, 2016 at 10:40 a.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
