Julie Alger

Julie Mignon Alger was born in a barn – "It was a converted hay storage unit!" – in Monticello, Utah on
July 23, 1965. She left this life quite quickly on December 20, 2022 in Las Vegas Nevada. She was the
youngest of ten children born to Max Warner and Marian Ferguson Edgel. She loves Bunnies, Fishing
and Yellow. Her family moved to Las Vegas when she was two and she had a wonderful childhood in the
new Desert Hills area of town. The greatest joys of her childhood were the family fishing trips to the
Uinta Mountains of Utah where she learned to fish. Julie graduated from Chaparral High School in 1983
and shortly after met the love of her life, Wayne. They were married for Time and All Eternity in the LDS
St. George Temple on June 16, 1984. He soon learned that she loves Bunnies, Fishing and Yellow. Her
greatest dream was to be the mother to a bunch of kids, but after a few years of marriage she found out
that was not to be. So, she poured her heart into the children and youth around her. She had a knack for
understanding how a child was feeling, touching their hearts and letting them know they were loved.
She also loves Bunnies, Fishing and Yellow. In 1996, after feeling lousy for some time, the doctor
ordered some tests, he was as shocked as she when it revealed she was 4 months pregnant. Thus,
Charles arrived followed two years later by his best friend, Caleb, and that was it, her family was
complete. She loved and cared for her boys and found that she still had enough love for Bunnies,
Fishing, Yellow and every child that crossed her path. She also loved staying connected with friends and
making new ones through her Gingerbread House parties she did for 38 years. Julie had a solid
testimony of the life and mission of Our Lord, Jesus Christ. She was a faithful member of The Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She most loved her time serving with the children and especially the
3–4-year-olds in primary. She loved those little ones almost as much as Bunnies, Fishing and Yellow. Julie
was proceeded in death by her parents and her brother, Warren. She leaves behind her Husband,
Wayne Alger, her sons, Charles and Caleb, her dog, Sport, innumerable extended family and a house
filled with Bunnies, Fishing and Yellow.
Services will be January 4, 2023 at the LDS chapel at 916 5th Street in Boulder City. A visitation for out-
of-town family and friends will be at 9:00am with the funeral service at 10:00. Please wear something
Yellow. Local family and friends are invited to come by the house any evening to sit, laugh, cry, tell
stories and bask in the Bunnies, Fishing and Yellow. Please call or text first.
