Katherine Bauer

Katherine VanderHoek Bauer, age 87, of Henderson, Nevada passed away at her home on June 24, 2013. She was born on January 19, 1926 in Lynden, Washington to Harry and Leona VanderHoekKatherine met and fell in love with "Her Choice" at the Greenwood Roller Rink, Lawrence Bauer (a naval aviator stationed at Whidby Island). They were married in Providence, RI on May 5, 1945. Katherine was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker that will be greatly missed. She was always placing the needs of family before her own. She enjoyed many years of boating with her family at the lake, knitting, gardening and caring for her family. Katherine and Lawrence 27 year residents of Las Vegas, were long time residence from Ogden, UT.
Katherine is survived by her sister Tena Carver (Harry Carver III) of Mukilteo, WA; three children Larry (Kaylene) Bauer of Henderson, NV, Sharon (Arthur Jr) Gaskell of Pueblo, CO, Gary (Carolyn Peebles) Bauer of Henderson, NV; seven grandchildren Lisa (Justin) Manning , Lindsay (Scott) Aslop, Arthur (Janelle) Gaskell III, Tammy (Steve) Garcia, Scott Gaskell, Brian (Cerina) Bauer, Brandon (Jasmine) Bauer; and 17 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother John VanderHoek and a grandson Brett Bauer.
