Kelley Ann Carnes Gleason, 49, of Boulder City, Nevada passed away at her home on March 18, 2014. She was born at Ventura Community Hospital, California, on November 15, 1964 to Michael and Susan (Daly) Carnes.
Kelley grew up in Ojai, California where she attended Monica Ros, Mira Monte and Nordhoff; and continued her passion for cooking and baking at The International Culinary School of Las Vegas. She played softball, tennis, soccer and spent summers water skiing and camping with her family. She had a great love of all animals and spent several years in Mira Monte 4-H where she raised grand champion goats. She had an adventurous spirit and felt most at home when she was connected to nature.
Kelley lived her life with a courageous and generous heart. She embraced others with a smile, a listening ear and always a helping hand. She was a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her neighbors and friends.
While living in Las Vegas in 1998, Kelley met her husband, the late Michael Gleason. They soon moved to Boulder City, Nevada where they enjoyed finding new places to hike, swim, fish and ride bikes. The couple married on May 9, 2009 at St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church.
She was a member of St. Christopher’s vestry and a delegate at the Diocesan Convention in Reno, Nevada. She donated her time to cook for and feed the homeless and volunteered at Lend a Hand.
Kelley Ann Carnes Gleason is survived by her parents Michael and Susan Carnes; sister Michele Carnes Ellis, brother-in-law Todd Ellis, her niece Camille, and nephews Conlan and Cashel; Aunt Donna Carnes, cousins Mary, Christopher and Brett; Uncle Rick and Aunt Darla Powless, cousins Terry and Jason; godparents Linda Jacobson, Orville Kiso and Pam Stanford; extended family in California and Texas; and her Golden Retriever, Keely.
Kelley was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; and her infant son, Evan Patrick.
Burial was held at Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. A memorial service will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 409 Topa Topa Drive in Ojai, California at 11:00 AM, April 12, 2014.
