Dr. Larry Buster Anders, age 91, of Henderson, NV passed away on March 3, 2015. He was born on September 28, 1923 to Flossie Mae Anders. He grew up in Glendale, South Carolina surrounded by a large extended family and nurtured by his Cherokee Grandmother. He attended Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. He served his country during World War II in the United States Army Air Force. After his service he went on to get his education and received a Bachelor of Science from Georgia State University, a MBA from the University of Chicago and his PHD in Psychology from William Lyon University. He worked as a Vice President, business consultant, executive coach, psychologist, professor, and was the owner of the consulting firm Anders & Associates. He taught Organization Development and Behavior at Loyola University, George Williams College, and Aurora University in the Chicagoland area. In 2000, he moved with his wife to Fresno, California and taught with her at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, Fresno campus. He was a past member of the National Organization Development Network, the American Psychological Association, the National Training Laboratories (NTL) in Bethel Maine, the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland and a board member of the Family Institute, Northwestern University.
Larry was dedicated to the game of golf and enjoyed any game of chance. He loved the great outdoors, nature, and all God's creatures. He was often found at the nearest park, walking with family or simply, enjoying the sun in his own backyard. He was an avid reader who passed on his passion for reading to his children and grandchildren and a fabulous story teller who shared tales of growing up with family and friends. He was especially proud of his recently published book, An Inspirational Journey: In Search of Wholeness and Meaning, a memoir told as short stories that captures the heart, spirit and strength of a boy struggling to find meaning in his journey to adulthood. Since retirement he actively participated in the Anthem Authors Club.
His greatest joy came from being engaged in the lives of his family. He adored his grandchildren, Amy, Kyle, Peyton and Eric and great grandchild, Brooklyn. Larry is survived by his wife Dr. Sharron "Sherry" Camden-Anders whom he married on St Thomas Island on March 1, 1989; daughters Ginger (Kurt) Buehner, Elkhorn, WI, Crystel (Jay Solwold) Anders , Madison, WI, and son Marc (Essie) Camden, Romeoville, IL; grandchildren Amy (Greg) Kazda Madison, WI, Kyle Buehner Oak Creek, WI, Peyton Camden and Eric Camden, Romeoville, IL. and great grandchild Brooklyn Kazda, Madison WI; He is further survived by sister- in- law Joelene( Barron) Buchunas, Carol Stream, IL; nephew Justin Buchunas, Las Vegas, NV and niece Brook (Todd) Faulstich and their children Brody and Riley Faulstich all of Warrenville, IL; and countless students, colleagues and friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City, NV on June 19, 2015 at 8:40am followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00am at the Anthem Center Ballroom, Delaware Room, 2450 Hampton Road, Henderson, NV 89052. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to Community Shares of Wisconsin, 612 W. Main Street, Suite 200, Madison Wisconsin 53703 or a charity of your choice in memory of Larry B Anders.
