Laura Jean Miller peacefully passed away on July 1, 2023 in Lehi, Utah at the age of 93. She was born October 7, 1929 in Pasadena, California. Laura Jean graduated from Payson High School in 1947 and then attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1951 from the school of nursing. After graduation, she married Harold L Miller, in the Salt Lake City Temple on June 13th and together they traveled to Ann Arbor, Michigan for Harold’s residency. In 1953, they moved to Henderson, Nevada where they raised their children and served the community for the remainder of their lives.
Laura Jean was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served faithfully in many capacities, but her favorite was in the temple where she served for over 30 years. In addition to church service, she also served the community through the Henderson Service Club, the Clark County Medical Society, the Clark County Board of Health and as a Democratic delegate. She was instrumental in the formation of The Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Henderson, NV .
Laura Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L Miller and her parents, Clinton and Mae Chambers. She is survived by their six children, Leslie Martin (Jerry), Barbara Farnsworth (Verl), Craig Miller (Tracy), Arnell Miller (Nancy), Lorenzo Miller (Lisa) and Ron Miller (Kelly). They have 33 grandchildren, 88 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren whom she loved very much.
