Leland Haugen

Leland Joseph Haugen "Lee", age 90, passed away at his home in Henderson, Nevada on March 13, 2013. He was born on February 28, 1923 in Rushford, Minnesota to Thomas and Inga Hanson Haugen. Leland joined the United States Army after high school and served during World War II. He retired from the Army as a Sergeant First Class. Early in his military service he met Barbara Bell who he later married on June 21, 1999 in Versailles, Missouri after the passing of his first wife. They moved to Henderson a little over a year ago from Mesquite, Nevada to be closer to doctors. Lee was a true patriot and loved his country. He served proudly in the VFW. He was a avid golfer and sportsman. He was a diehard football fan.

He is survived by his wife Barbara Haugen, five children Thomas (Cathy) Haugen, Joseph (Vicki) Haugen, Diane (Gary) Mazzoli, Bryan (Trish) Haugen, Annette (Lanny) Marriot; eleven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2013 at 10:00 am at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 1500 Amador Lane in Henderson, NV. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:00 to 9:45 at the church. Burial will follow the service at 12:00 noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
