Mrs. Bernadine Rowe, fondly called “Bernie” by family and friends, passed away with family by her side on Friday, March 24, 2017. She was 81 years old.
Bernadine was born to George Delbert Key and Bonnie Key on November 30, 1935 in Gallatin, Tennessee. After high school she moved to Indianapolis where she met and married her husband Joe D. Rowe on September 24, 1954. Over their 62 years together, they lived in Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Colorado, Oklahoma and Nevada. Bernadine was never one to sit still – she was always on the go! Although her illness slowed her down in the end, her spirit persevered. Words like “kind, caring and generous” are the type of words used to describe Bernadine by her friends and family.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Joe D. Rowe; her daughters Marlene Roberts (Rob) and Joie (Chris) Rowe-Murphy of Boulder City; six grandsons Joe Roberts (Marlo) of Las Vegas, Erik Roberts of Henderson, Mackenzie Murphy, Zachary Murphy, Jack Murphy and Calahan Murphy of Boulder City; 5 great-grandchildren Caitlyn, Jillian, Michael, Marissa and Mickayla; and her sisters Margarite Rowe, Myra Laubenstein, Rachel Carter and her brother Walter Key as well as many nephews, nieces and in-laws that all loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Martha Ann Huff and her brother Charles Key.
