Louis Boyer

Louis Boyer age 86, of Mesquite, NV passed away on January 17, 2024 in Mesquite, NV.  He was born in Salt Lake City, UT on April 27, 1937 to Louis and Rose Shamy Boyer.   Louis and Rose had nine children.  Louis learned the value of hard work from his older brothers in the restaurant businesses.   He married Darlene Vinanti in 1954 and had four daughters.  He later married Barbara Shreeves in Salt Lake City, UT on May 14, 2005.  They began visiting Mesquite as snowbirds in 2015 and moved to Mesquite full time from Lehi, UT in 2018.  

Louis owned and operated The Italian Village Restaurant in Murray, UT for over 60 years. Louis was a member of Saint Thomas More Catholic Church in Draper, UT.  He was an avid golfer and loved to golf the many courses in the Salt Lake Valley with his golf buddies.  He enjoyed going turkey hunting and loved to go fishing.  He had fished all over the world including the Amazon.  He always enjoyed his yearly fishing trip with his fishing buddies to Alaska.  Louis and Barbara were experienced cruisers and had cruised all over the world.  Some of their favorites being Norway, Tahiti and Greece.

Louis is survived by his wife Barbara Boyer; daughters Deann Christensen, Kerrie (Steve) Sprouse, Cherie (Denny) Gallegos, Nickie (Paul) Gressmen; step daughter Tamra Manis; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Family will celebrate the life of Louis with a memorial mass in Draper, UT and a dedicated mass in Hawaii.  Family and friends are invited to sign an online memorial guest book at www.starmortuary.com
