Louis Roland Sisk

Louis Roland Sisk, age 75 of Mesquite, NV passed away on September 28, 2023 surrounded by his wife- Diana, his sons- Louis and Jon, and his daughter and daughter-in-law, Angie and Trisha.  He was born on September 4, 1948 in Redding, CA to Louis Miller Sisk and June Irene Secrest Sisk.  Louis grew up in Chico, CA and graduated from Chico High School in 1966.  He went on to work as a lineman for PGE for 44 years.  He married Diana Marie Jackson on May 20, 1966 in Chico, CA and they have spent 57 married years together.  They raised their family in Auberry, CA where they spent 40 years, recently moving to Mesquite in 2022.

Lou loved learning new things and was a self-taught man. He was highly respected at his position in PG&E and was considered a legend in his field. He was an avid reader and history buff. He bought a personal computer as soon as they were available for purchase and kept up with the technology industry, buying the newest gadgets and games. He and Diana had many beloved Pomeranians over the years. Lou enjoyed a variety of hobbies and tried his hand at beekeeping, leather working, wood carving, model ship building, racing remote control cars, and model rocket ships. He made all holidays special, giving his wife and daughters gifts on Valentine’s Day, making a bunny-shaped cake to go with Easter baskets for Easter morning, and decorating the house with tinsel, lights, and treats to make Christmas special for his family. He took his family on camping vacations in the summers where he taught each of his children to fish, took trips to Disneyland, and the beach of San Simeon, where he loved searching for moonstones and driftwood along the shores. 

He is survived by his wife Diana Sisk; three children Louis (Mary) Sisk, Jonathan (Patricia) Sisk, Angela (Jonathan) Button; nine grandchildren Andrea (Jason) Gunsolus, Juliet (Andrew) Carroll, Jonathan Sisk, Travis Sisk, James Sisk, Jonathan Button, Asa Button, Jackson Button Alexander Button; five great grandchildren Aiden Gunsolus, Aubrey Gunsolus, Ashton Gunsolus, Alexandrea Carroll and Rosemarie Carroll.  He is preceded in death by his daughter Juliet Sisk; parents Louis Sisk, June Cotters and stepfather Edmond Cotters. 

Celebration of life will be held on Monday, October 2, 2023 at 11:00 am  at River Valley Baptist Church, 322 East Hafen Lane, Mesquite NV 89027.  Family and friends are invited to sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.com
