Lynn E. DeCamp, age 78 of Henderson, Nevada, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on March 15, 1946, in Warren, Ohio, to the late Thomas and Marjorie (Beck) DeCamp.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Rebekah Phillips, and his parents.
He is survived by his spouse, Linda DeCamp, his sister, Karen (Daniel) Nyitrai, his children, Thomas (Lori) DeCamp and David DeCamp; grandchildren, Jackson DeCamp, Madison DeCamp, Carson DeCamp, Anthony DeCamp, and Aeson DeCamp.
Lynn was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, whose love and dedication to his family were the foundation of his life. As a young man in high school, Lynn showcased his athletic talent as a successful baseball player. This early love for the game blossomed into a lifelong passion that he eagerly shared with his sons and grandsons, passing down his enthusiasm for America’s pastime across generations.
Lynn’s professional journey began as a barber in Warren, Ohio, where his warm and easygoing nature made him a natural at forming meaningful connections. This is also where his passion for bowling began. He was a friend to all that crossed his path, brightening lives one conversation at a time.
Later in life, Lynn relocated to Henderson, Nevada, where he met and married the love of his life and partner, Linda. Together, they shared a passion for competitive bowling. Over the years, they became a dynamic duo on the lanes, competing in countless leagues and forming cherished friendships within the bowling community. Lynn’s knowledge of the sport was unparalleled; through his enthusiasm and knowledge, Lynn mentored countless people to greater success in bowling.
A true sports fan at heart, Lynn’s love of athletics extended beyond the bowling alley. He was a steadfast supporter of the Ohio State Buckeyes, cheering them on with unwavering dedication, and he rarely missed a Cleveland Indians game. Lynn’s joy for sports was a thread that wove through his life, creating bonds with friends and family alike.
Lynn’s legacy is one of love, friendship, and passion for the things that brought joy to his life and those around him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Strike Zone Bowling Center, 1311 W. Sunset Rd., Henderson, Nevada, 89014.
