Maria “Katy” Kayletta (Loudon) Bryant, age 60, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2024, in Mesquite, Nevada of natural causes. Katy was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by profound love and dedication to her family.
Born on June 11, 1964, in Creston, Iowa, to Dalton and Barbara Loudon, Katy later went to live with her beloved grandmother, Isabelle Loudon, whom she cherished deeply. She attended St. Malachy Catholic School in Creston.
In 1979, Katy welcomed twin daughters, Regina and Raelynne, whom she vowed to love and protect with all her heart. Her role as a mother was her greatest joy and her primary mission in life. Three years later, she married Don Copeland and warmly embraced his son Ted, whom she adored. Although their marriage ended in divorce, Katy’s capacity to love remained unwavering. Katy’s journey led her to work at the post office, where she met the love of her life, Bob Bryant. They were married in 1993, and Katy gained two stepsons, Robert and Casey Bryant. Bob welcomed Katy’s daughters as his own, and together they built a family united by deep love and devotion. In 1997, Katy and Bob moved to St. George, Utah, and later built a condo in Mesquite, Nevada, where they created a home full of love and warmth.
Tragically, Katy endured profound losses when she lost both of her parents and Bob between 2002 and 2004. These losses left a deep mark on her heart, from which she never fully recovered.
Katy is survived by her two cherished daughters, Regina (General) Williams of Henderson, NV, and Raelynne (Christopher) Hillius of Bunkerville, NV. She was the proud grandmother of Brittni, Alex, Kassandra, Dylan, and Hailey, who brought her immense joy and pride.
She is also survived by her six sisters: Lene (Gordon) Thompson, Lynne (Jack) Grosvenor, Anna Whetzell, Cynthia (Kevin) Waddingham, Melani (Cody) Hudson, and Nickole McCarville. Each of them held a special place in her heart.
Katy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert “Bob” Bryant; her parents, Dalton and Barbara Loudon; and her grandmother, Isabelle Loudon. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Katy’s vibrant spirit, kind heart, and unwavering love for her family were the hallmarks of her life. She made a lasting impact on those around her with her warmth and generosity. Her creative talents were evident in the many masterpieces she crafted, which will remain as a testament to her unique spirit.
