Marian E. Drost, age 91, of Boulder City, NV, passed away on June 21, 2017. She was born on February 18, 1926, in Scranton, PA, to Anna and Jerome C. Wegge. Marian married Thomas F. Drost on July 29, 1950. In the summer of 1967, Marian, Thomas and their family moved from Oklahoma City, OK, to Boulder City.
Marian was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and was very involved in her faith. She was a beautiful singer and sang in both the huge church choir in Oklahoma City and the choir in the old Catholic church that once stood on Wyoming Street. Marian is known as Boulder City’s first Welcome Wagon Lady. She always exercised and did Tai Chi and Yoga. Marian was also a great cook. She had a benevolent smile and her laugh would light up a room. She was friendly to everyone and never met a stranger.
Marian is survived by three children: Marianne (Hans) Ruud, Elizabeth (John) Butler, Dr. Thomas F. (Lisa) Drost jr.; seven grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Monday July 3, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church with the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. The interment will be held at 1:20 p.m. at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Buchanan Blvd. Boulder City, NV.
