Marion Richard Malone

Marion Richard “Rick” Malone passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 at the age of 81.  He was born in Baytown, Texas on October 14, 1942 to James Bertram (J.B.) and Lurley Faye Welch Malone.

Rick attended Lamar Technical College (now Lamar University) after having graduated from Lee High School in Baytown.  He studied history in college which fostered his love of all things Civil War and World War II.  He was a welder during his professional life but had a love of nature, fishing and growing orchids.  He bought an RV as a retirement gift and took road trips with his wife, 4 dogs and a cat to Texas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years Paule of Mesquite, NV; children Marianne Ehrlich of Arlington, Tx and Lisa Watkins of Burleson, Tx; grandchildren Faith and Hope Ehrlich, and Valerie and Jackson Watkins; brother Paul Malone of Houston, Tx.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother Kenneth Malone.
