Martin Jordan

Pastor Martin Duane Jordan (age 67) of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on March 20th, 2013. He was born on May 14, 1945 in Caldwell, Idaho to Floyd and Laura Jordan, one of eleven children. He married Mary Katherine Smart who preceded him in death. He married Mary Frances Cruson in June of 1987. Duane served his country in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Northwest University, Kirkland Washington in 1977. He was an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God Church. Duane had a strong faith in God his creator. His life's passion was preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. He was a minister for 36 years pastoring in Riggins, ID, Silverton, OR, Nyssa, OR, Prineville, OR and pioneered the Boulder City Assembly of God church in Boulder City, NV. He served there as pastor from 1995 to 2011. He was the Chaplin at Southern Nevada State Veterans Home for a few months prior to his illness. For 13 years he volunteered each week as a pastor at Boulder City Hospital in long term care and at the Homestead of Boulder City. He will be remembered for the love he had for people and his willingness to care for his church congregation and his community. He served on the City Council in Riggins, ID. He belonged to the Ministerial Association in many towns he pastored. Duane is survived by his wife Fran Jordan of Boulder City, NV; four children: Suzi (Ed) Friend of Phoenix, AZ, Rob (Jenny) Jordan of Silverton, OR, Jenny (Michael) Ayersman of Boulder City, NV, Jonathan (Rebekah) Jordan of Boulder City, NV; ten grandchildren: Matt, Mary and Abbey Friend, Erika and Amy Jordan, Kalani and Kaia Frantz and Janae Ayersman; and Caiden Jordan; Five siblings Clara Brooks, Lewanna Dorman, Carol Dash, Lyle Jordan and Patricia Kanno. He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife and five siblings: Vera Estep, Lawrence Jordan, Theda Nix, Norma Dowen and Pearl Rosdahl. Visitation will be held at Boulder City Assembly of God Church 1100 Adams Blvd from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Thursday, March 28th. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on March 29, 2013 at Boulder Creek Golf Course Pavilion 1501 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV. Internment at 1:20pm Southern Nevada Veteran's Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Dr, Boulder City, NV. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be given to cover medical expenses and the Boulder City Assembly of God Church Building Fund.
