Martin Thompson

July 29, 1932 — September 30, 2017

Martin O. Thompson, 85, of Boulder City and formerly of Tacoma, WA, passed away Sept. 30, 2017.  He was born July 29, 1932, in Tacoma to Ordin and Susanna Thompson.  Martin was preceded in death by brother Tommy, and the love of his life and wife of 55 years, Carolyn.  Following service in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, as an Aviation Storekeeper, he graduated from Pacific Lutheran University.  Martin worked at the Boeing Company before starting his career as a bookkeeping and accounting instructor at Bates Technical College in Tacoma.  Martin was a wonderful father and grandfather.  He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, golfer, and woodcarver.  His quick wit and smile will be missed by many.  Martin is survived by his three children, Donald (Marilyn) Thompson, Lois (Paul) Klouse and Robert (Lorraine) Thompson; and eight grandchildren, Evan, Aubrey and Braden Klouse and Megan, Lynette, Elisa, Samuel and Danielle Thompson. Memorial services are scheduled for October 26, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrews Catholic Community Church, 1399 San Felipe Dr., Boulder City.  Honor Guard and burial will follow the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Cemetery 1900 Veteran’s Memorial Drive, Boulder City.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com.  The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org.
