Mary V Bowe passed away on January 16, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones.
Mary was born in Spokane, Washington to Victor and Abby (Pierce) Finnila on May 1, 1939. Mary spent most of her childhood growing up in Republic, WA the place she would always call home. After graduating from Republic High School in 1957 she attended Holy Names College in Spokane, WA graduating with a degree in Education in 1961. Following graduation she moved to Lancaster, CA where she taught until 1965. Mary accepted a teaching position with DOD and taught in Okinawa Japan from 1965-1966. She then transferred to Germany and taught from 1966-1967 in Germany. Marry soon returned to California and taught from 1967 -1968 before finally settling back into the place she called home. She taught in Republic for 17 years where she taught and touched the lives of all who passed through her classroom.
Mary married Perry (Major) Bowe in 1968 and had two children, Danielle and Christopher Bowe. Major and Mary owned and operated a dairy farm for four years. They later divorced.
Mary and Ron Tatlow, her best friend and companion in life, have been "Snow Birds" in Nevada for 20 years. They spent their winters in Mesquite, NV before heading back home to Republic to enjoy the warmer months in the place she loved most.
Mary will be remembered for her spunky personality, infectious laugh but most importantly her love for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Abbie (Pierce) Finnila, her daughter Danielle (Bowe) Harris, and her grandson Jade Harris.
She is survived by her son Chris Bowe and Tony Bauer (wife Kris Bauer), Son-in-Law Kevin Harris (wife Cassandra Metton Harris), Grandson Dylan Bauer(wife Jordan Bauer), granddaughters Jessica Bowe, Savannah Bowe, Desirae (Bauer) Gilbertson, Samara Harris, great grand daughter's Juniper Gilbertson, Reggie Bauer, Zanna Harris and great grandsons Mayson Harris and Aceyn Bauer. Ron Tatlow, Companion and Best Friend. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial will be held at Immaculate Conceptions Church in Republic, Washington on July 19th at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers donations are welcome to Republic Cemetery or a charity of your choice. AMEN!
