Maxine Edwards

Maxine J Edwards age 78, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on June 3, 2021.  She was born Alta Maxine Johnson on January 12, 1943 in Port Orchard, WA to Vincent Lyle Johnson and Alta Smith Johnson.  She married Gene Wayne Edwards on August 20, 1977 in Las Vegas.  They lived in Las Vegas and for a period in Sacramento, CA then back to Vegas in 1994.

Maxine loved doing crafts; including hand painting, and sewing.  She was an avid collector of Coca-Cola products.  She was a proud member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.  She also enjoyed working with children and did a lot of work with children when she lived in Denver. She enjoyed studying her family history and doing genealogy.  She loved to spend time with her family even fishing with her husband.

Maxine is survived by her husband Gene Edwards; three children Tracy (Craig) Miller, Todd (Debbie) Robinson, April (Kevin) Edwards-Loun; a brother Lyle (Helen) Johnson; two sisters Joan (Louis) Banning, Jennifer (Erik) Benisch; twelve grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son Mac Robinson.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 10:00 to 10:45 and funeral service will begin at 11:00 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 375 N Hollywood Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89110.  Burial will be at Bunker’s Memorial Gardens 7251 W Lone Mountain Rd Las Vegas NV 89129 at 2pm.  Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.Starmortuary.com
