Michael J Cahill Sr, age 88, passed away in Henderson, NV on Oct. 9, 2013. He was born in Los Angeles, CA on June 1, 1925 to Michael and Raphaela Cahill. He served in the Navy during WWII on the U.S.S. Yorktown and was part of the Coral Sea Battle that lasted 22 hours before rescued by the USS Dobbin. He was also in the Battle of Okinawa, Battle of Coroline Island, Turk Island and the Battle of Timor. He was a graduate of UCLA Business Management program. He had a very successful career which included operations manager for Lockhead Aircraft Corp, and director of operations at Hydo-Aire Division of Crane Co.; at Vacco Industires he was director of operations, and at ABex Company he served as Vice President of Manufacturing.
Michael was a member of St Peters Catholic Church and had a strong faith. He is survived by his wife Irene Cahill; nine children, 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Oct 16, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:30 at Boulder City Family Mortuary. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
