Michael E. Gleason, age 66 of Boulder City passed away on April 10, 2012. He was born on February 25, 1946 in Cairo, Illinois to Earl and Naomi Beard Gleason. After graduating from Bloom Township High School he served in the US Army from 1965-1968. Michael served one tour of duty in Vietnam with the 424 Medi-Vac Company. Upon release from the military he became a journeyman plumber beginning in Chicago Heights, Illinois and completed his 40 year profession in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Michael loved to fish and was a member of a fishing club for many years. He enjoyed politics, traveling, boating, model trains and followed NASCAR and his Chicago Bears. Michael was active in the Episcopal Church and participated in the homeless shelter, donating his time to cooking for and feeding the homeless.
He is survived by his beloved wife Kelley Gleason, two brothers Byron (Betty), Jerry (Laura) Gleason, two aunt Sandra Williams, Helen Imhoff ten nieces and nephews; Naomi, Timothy, Leah, Susan, Janet, Byron Jr, Nancy, Conlan, Camille, and Cashel.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 11 am, St Christopher's Episcopal Church, 812 Arizona St, Boulder City, Nevada. Burial will follow at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 12:40 pm.
