Surrounded by loved ones, Myron Shepherd passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Myron was born on April 13, 1944 in Payson, Utah and raised in Levan, Utah. As a young man he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Central Eastern States Mission before meeting his sweetheart Jeanne at BYU Provo and marrying in the Manti, Utah temple on June 24, 1966. Myron and Jeanne raised their family in Henderson, Nevada where Myron worked as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor. He served in numerous church callings where his Christ-like example, strong testimony, and love of people touched the hearts of many. After retiring and serving a mission with his wife in the Tennessee Nashville mission, Myron fulfilled a life-long dream of building a beautiful home in his beloved Montana where he became loved by his neighbors, continued his service to all around him, and fought to keep cows and critters out of his garden.
Known for his service to others, kindness, work ethic, love of his family, and testimony of Jesus Christ, Myron had a tremendously positive impact on the lives he touched. He was the kind of man who never met a stranger, and never passed up an opportunity to serve someone else. He was an avid hunter, and he loved hiking, riding his bike, and being outdoors. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, neighbor, and friend.
He is survived by his loving wife Jeanne, his children Michelle (Ben), Michael (Dana), Joshua (Heather), Justin (Betsy), and Jill, along with 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; siblings Darlene, Doreen, Orvin (Doris), Vonnie, Millie (Gordon), Loessa, David (Dorothy), Malin (Judy), and Marcia (Kevin).
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 28 at 11 a.m. at the Cholla Street Chapel at 303 South Cholla Street, Henderson NV 89015. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you go out and serve someone without expecting anything in return. We promise you that this is exactly what Myron would have wanted! Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
