In loving memory of our father, Orval David Winchester, who passed away at age 84 on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. George Regional Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Judith Gayle Winchester and loving father of Tony David Winchester, Tina Gail Winchester, Thomas Leslie Winchester and Toby Lee Winchester. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Orval was born in Raymond, Washington on January 1st, 1939, to Virgil Oscar Winchester and Hanna Myrle Bettelyoun. He was the 1st baby born in the state of Washington that year. He entered the Army (Stationed all over Europe / Mostly West Germany) and served in Intelligence for 7 years with an Honorable Discharge.
He married Judy on April 16, 1960, in Langlois, Oregon. Together they moved and lived in many places until settling in Beaver Dam. Orval enjoyed many things in life, but he especially loved Golf. He loved golfing with his family and friends over the many years and all the memories made that he loved to talk about. Judy passed away in 2009 and he was fortunate to meet a wonderful woman named Mary Borich Johnson whom he lived and shared his time with until her passing in June of 2020.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family. He faced every challenge in life with admirable strength and courage. He was always there for us, whether we needed help with our homework or just a shoulder to cry on. He was a man of strong faith, and he taught us the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to.
Orval was preceded in death by his father and Mother, wife - Judith Gale Winchester, son - Tony David Winchester, daughter -Tina Gale Holyoak and life partner Mary Borich Johnson.
He is survived by Thomas (son) and Teresa Winchester (Mesquite, NV.), Toby (son) & Janet Decker Winchester (Herriman, UT) along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren across the western united states.
