Pamela Gove, 71 passed away on October 11, 2018 in Boulder City, NV.
Pam was born on February 15, 1947 in Millersburg, OH to Eugene and Naomi VanMeter. She grew up in Angola, Indiana and was actively involved in her 4-H club. Her ambition was to be an elementary school teacher.
Pam graduated from Angola High School and went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Education from Purdue University in 1968 and master’s degree from Western Michigan in 1972. Pam taught at several elementary schools in Michigan (Amerman), Ohio (Washington and Campbell), Arizona (Hualapai) and Nevada (Mountain View, Robert Taylor and Hinman Elementary) before retiring from the Clark Count School District in Nevada in 2008.
Pam married Alan Gove on August 17, 1968 in Angola, Indiana. They relocated several times before moving to Nevada in 1986. Pam was very active in her daughter’s and grandchildren’s lives. She was a Girl Scout leader not only for her daughter’s troops in Ohio and Arizona, but also for her granddaughter’s troop in Boulder City. Pam spent many years helping with the International Order of Rainbow for Girls (IORG) and the Order of Eastern Star (OES) where her daughter was a member. She was a devoted supporter of all her family and their activities. She enjoyed travelling, scrapbooking, and back-to-school shopping with her grandchildren.
Pam is survived by her husband, Alan; brother, Donald VanMeter and his wife Lorna of Colorado; daughter, Sacha Huysentruyt and her husband Karl of Boulder City, NV and two grandchildren.
Services will be private. Her family appreciates all thoughts and prayers as she will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nathan Adelson Hospice. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
