Patricia Louise McGarrity, 79, of Boulder City, NV passed away Thursday morning February 28, 2013 at her home. She was born on November 14, 1933 to the late Stephen and Mildred Malecki in New Kensington, PA and lived most of her life in the local area with her family. She first worked for ALCOA, where she met and married George McGarrity, Jr in April 1954. Though deeply devoted as a homemaker, wife, and mother of daughter, Kathleen, and son, Geogre III. Patricia, a devout Catholic, was greatly involved in the prayerful devotions, cooking, and varied support of her native church, St Mary of Czestochowa in New Kensington, PA and then later, St James the Greater Church in Apollo, PA. She avidly loved nature, fun outdoor activities, competed in softball sports and bowling. Deeply beloved by all who knew her, she became helpful immediately to neighbors, friends, loved ones, and to work associates at Citizens General Hospital in medical data entry; or later at the Henderson Walmart as a door greeter receiving awards for excellence. She is survived by her husband, George Jr, son George III, sister Connie, and her nephews Arnie and Aaron Kuhns of Boulder City and Henderson, NV daughter Kathleen, and cousin Kathleen Stone, Esq. both of Los Angeles, CA; nieces Lisa Lampus and Leslie DeSimone of PA and FL, respectively. She is preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Masciola. A memorial Mass for Patricia will be celebrated at her family parish, St Peter the Apostle Church in Henderson, NV, Saturday March 9, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
