Paul Ryan

Paul Thomas Ryan, 96 of Boulder City, Nevada passed away on February 3, 2013 at The Homestead of Boulder City.

He was born July 21, 1916 in Oxford, New York, the son of Rd and Mary Ethel Ryan. He is survived by his sons Paul H. Ryan, David S. Ryan, daughter Sharon M. Lalley, nephews Leon Ryan, Patrick Ryan, Ken Ryan, niece Mary, granddaughters Julie M. Wood, Kimmy L. Nelson and great grandchildren Layne, Kya and Cayden Wood.

Paul was educated at Oxford Academy and Ohio State before enlisting in the Army Air Corps April 23, 1941. During his Air Force career, Paul worked in radar and communications, having earned many decorations including the Legion of Merit and The Purple Heart. He met and married his wife Denise Estelle in 1943, while serving the military and having the three children named above Paul, David and Sharon.

He retired from the Air Force as a Lt. Colonel in 1962. After retiring he spent seven years working on the Apollo Space program for Rockwell Corporation in Downey, CA.

He relocated from CA to Boulder City, Nevada in 1978, becoming involved in real estate. His passion was playing tennis and volunteer work including Lend a Hand and Meals on Wheels. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 12:40 at the Southern Nevada Veterasn Memorial Cemetery.
