REV RALPH ARTHUR HUWE
Ralph Arthur Huwe, age 89, departed this life to be with the Lord on February 2, 2016 at Nevada State Veterans Home, Boulder City, Nevada. He was born August 6, 1926, in St Paul, Minnesota, the son of Otto and Mae Huwe.
Ralph joined the Navy and served aboard the USS Endicott from 1944-1946. After the war he entered the University of Minnesota to earn his Bachelor(s) in Electrical Engineering and Business Administration. After graduation in 1951 he married Barbara Ottinger, whom he met at the university. Ralph was employed by General Electric and the family lived in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, Indiana, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. While in Illinois Ralph chose a change of vocation and entered Concordia Lutheran Seminary in Springfield, Illinois and graduated with a Masters of Divinity. He served several churches in Pennsylvania including volunteer chaplaincy at several hospitals. He had a love for choral music and sang in several groups during his life.
Ralph had been a lifelong member of the Lutheran Church. He will be remembered for his strength of character and integrity. In 1996 Ralph and Barbara retired to Prescott, Arizona where they both became involved in church and volunteering. Ralph is survived by his wife Barbara, his five sons Timothy (Cindee), Thomas (Kimberly), Jonathan (Janice), David (Ethel), Tobiah, and daughter Kristen Brewer (Bobby). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, his sister Joan and brother Larry.
Memorials may be made to Mountain View Lutheran Church, Las Vegas, Nevada or Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, Prescott, Arizona.
