With great sadness we announce the passing of Raymond l Medberry(Shaver, Shaffer). He was born 7-19-1935 and passed on 12-17-2021 at 86 years old. Raymond was born in Craig, Colorado his family moved to Las Vegas in the early 40's. A veteran of the armed forces he served in the Army.
His wife of 50 years, Anita Medberry & 3 sons Mike, Gary and Rick Welte will carry forth his legacy as well as his grand and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret, father Roy, sisters Irene Henderson, Maxine Hutfilz and brothers Lloyd, Barney, Carrol, Ken and Willie. He is survived by Douglas and Greta Medberry.
Raymond was an offroad enthusiast & driver in many Mint 400 and SNORE 250 races. To his family, especially his sons, he was a strong, principled traditionalist with a love of country and all that is good in it. He loved the American west and explored it with his wife and family. A huge fan of classic western movies he respected hard work and self-sufficiency. Patient and industrious his work ethic was exemplary. He loved his family and there’s nothing he liked more than being with them on holiday occasions. His work and life career were in the gaming industry in which he excelled. To his family he was a rock of security. It was comforting just to know he was there to hug or talk to. Nothing will be the same without him. He will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will take place at the Southern Nevada Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at 9:20 am. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
