Robert Cooper

June 28, 1936 — November 21, 2016

In the early hours of November 21, 2016, Captain Robert Nathaniel Cooper passed peacefully with his wife of 60 years, Dominga, by his side.

They met in October of 1953 and for him it was love at first sight.  After a 2 ½ year courtship they were married in Elkton, Maryland on July 7, 1956.

Robert enlisted in the Air Force in March of 1954 in order to offer a better life for his future family.  He was promoted to Master Sergeant on June 29th, 1969 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant the very next day.  During his career he received numerous honors, served as a Squadron Commander, achieved the rank of Captain and was selected as a permanent Regular Officer.  He was stationed in New York, Mississippi, Alaska, Florida, Hawai’i, Guam, Nebraska, Texas and California where, after 25 years of service, he exchanged his dress blues for a three-piece suit.  For the next 22 years he worked in the private sector in Aerospace and Defense.

In 1999, Robert and Dominga moved to Henderson, Nevada to enjoy travelling and time with their family.  He is survived by his wife Dominga, daughters, Deborah Lynn Cooper, Stephanie Louise Cooper-Noe and Michele Elizabeth LoSchiavo, grandchildren, Dominga Lynn Cooper Noe, Samantha Cathlee Cooper Noe, Catherine Miranda LoSchiavo, his only grandson, Joseph Palmer Robert LoSchiavo, his sons-in-law Timothy Krenzien, David Noe and Vincent LoSchiavo and his beloved chocolate Lab, Sir Bruno Oso.

Fly safely and well My Love.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at Boulder City Family Mortuary, 833 Nevada Way, Suite 1, Boulder City NV, 89005.

Captain Cooper will be laid to rest at 1:00 pm on December 2, 2016 at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, NV 89005.
