Robert Dudley Jackson II, 80, passed away Sunday October 13,2024 at his home. He was born November 21, 1943 in Albuquerque, NM to Robert Dudley Jackson and Willie Mae Norton. He was married to Ann Jones in Mesquite on June 21, 1991.
Robert’s father passed away in WWII before he was born. His father was a pilot in the Airforce and was shot down in the South Pacific. His mother remarried when he was seven years old to Norman Stewart Snyder. Three years later his sister Catherine Ann was born.
His stepfather was also in the Airforce and they lived all over the world while he was growing up. Robert graduated from the University of New Mexico with his bachelor of business administration degree and a minor in marketing on June 9th, 1967. After college Robert moved to Stateline, NV and worked various jobs in the Casino. During the Winters he would also work in Sun Valley, Idaho on the Ski Patrol and as a bartender. In 1977 he moved to Carson City working in Casinos. He enjoyed spending time at Lake Tahoe. In 1986 he moved to Mesquite, NV and worked at the Peppermill Casino and then the Oasis as a Craps Dealer until he retired in 2008.
Robert loved to be active by going camping, hiking, traveling, playing tennis and working out. He really enjoyed having Ping Pong tournaments with his kids and then grandchildren and never backed down when challenged.
Robert is survived by his wife Ann Jones, his children Carlee Farnsworth, Jake Wharton and his grandchildren Jacoby Flores, Issik Wharton, Nicholas Bradley Wharton, Kaleb Wharton, Zachary (Alex) Wharton, Kaylee Wharton, Jakob Wharton; his sister Catherine Ann Snyder of Albuquerque, NM and is preceded in death by Zachary Wharton.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life for Robert at the Marilyn Redd Park on Saturday November 2,2024 from 9:30-11:30 am. They welcome all friends and family to join them. You can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.com
