Robert Johnson Ricks

Robert (“Bob”) Johnson Ricks, age 92 of Mesquite, NV passed away in the early morning hours of April 28, 2024.  He was born on February 3, 1932 in Los Angeles, CA to Ezra Adams Ricks and Mary Venice Johnson Ricks.  

Bob was an amazing basketball player and played college basketball at Brigham Young University.   While attending BYU he got a bachelor’s degree and then attended Humphrey’s College of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctor.  Bob enjoyed a successful career as a trial attorney in Sacramento then as a personal injury attorney in Stockton, California.  He practiced law until his retirement in 2004.  After retirement Bob relocated to beautiful Palm Desert, California where he resided for ten years and then he and his beloved Lenore Chapman relocated to Mesquite, Nevada in 2015.  He enjoyed playing tennis and was an avid golfer.  He played both well and continued to enjoy these hobbies into his later years.

Bob is survived by his partner Lenore Ruth Chapman; three children, Edward (Julia) Ricks, Del (Kelly) Ricks, Carolyn (Jim) Argyle; a brother Gary Ricks; a sister Donna Ford; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
