Roger Foley

May 20, 1936 — August 18, 2014

Roger Foley, an Icon of Boulder City, passed away on 18 Aug 2014. He is survived by his sons David, Daniel and their families. Though a recluse in his golden years, Roger was born in Chicago and moved with his parents, Joe and Aline, to Barstow CA. Roger played the tuba in high school and was involved in several academic societies. He met his wife Dena while working his way through college at MacDonald Douglas. His parents helped purchase Foley's Chevron in Boulder City, near Fort Lucinda. An avid pilot, Roger joined the Boulder City aeronautics council and was instrumental in securing landing lights at the end of the old BC runways. Roger was an outdoors man who enjoyed motor-cycling, hunting and tennis. He won several trophies for slalom, high speed and endurance water skiing. Roger enjoyed league bowling at Boulder Bowl and he was a prominent member of the Lions Club. In retirement he went back to school and got his real-estate license. He worked for Katie Cartilage Brokerage until the late 90s and enjoyed retirement playing computer games. Private services will be held. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
