Roy David Gilger, age 64, of Boulder City passed away on April 24, 2012. He was born on November 26, 1947 in Kansas City, Missouri to Archie and Lyle Plummer Gilger. They moved to Boulder City shortly after his birth. He served in the United States Navy for two years. He married Joy Kivett on November 4, 1970 in Boulder City, NV.
Roy was a member of the Jaycees in Boulder City. He enjoyed racing motorcycles, playing the guitar, deer hunting, shooting guns, fishing, building cars and boats. He loved to play with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Gilger of Boulder City, NV, two daughters Shellee (Robert) Sateren of Henderson, NV , Cindy (Christopher) Homer of Boulder City, NV; five grandchildren, Kailyn Homer, Preston Homer, Isabella Homer, Joie Sateren, Jacob Sateren; a brother Duane (Donna) Gilger of Spanish Fork, UT, five sisters Dee Ann Peplowski of Las Vegas, NV, Sandra (Frank) Heimbach of Las Vegas, NV Beverly Bortz of Las Vegas, NV Clela (Carl) Tilby of Ivins, UT, Marilyn (Stan) Albiston of Kaysville, UT; two nephews Tony Riley and Brian Stucker.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 11:20 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
