Samson Pereza, age 83, of Boulder City, NV passed away on August 31, 2024. He was born on January 28, 1941 in Maui, Hawaii to Santiago Pereze and Ella Pak Chong Pereza. He married Shirley Janell Norris on October 31, 1981.
Samson worked many years in Las Vegas as a glazier where he installed glass in many of the casinos that are still there today. After he retired they moved to Louisiana and then back to Boulder City four years ago. He was a craftsman who loved to work with his hands on projects from remodeling to making beautiful furniture. He enjoyed living on the 9th island, “Las Vegas”, as well as camping, fishing, and growing his own fruits and vegetables. He was a man of faith and went to St Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church in Boulder City where he was intimately involved and even helped install the stained glass windows in the current St. Andrew’s.
He is survived by his wife Shirley Pereza; seven children Gary (Lori) Hall, Julie Pereza, Michael (Danette) Hall, Sharlene DeCosta, Danna (Ron) Fisher, Teena (Chuck) Pickens, Brian (Donna) Pereza; a brother Santiago “Boy” Pereza; 19 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters.
Family will be holding a celebration of life in early November.
