Sheila Stahl, 59, passed away on January 2, 2025, in Henderson, Nevada. Born June 2, 1965, in Chicago, Illinois, to Francesca Messina and Robert Abrahamson, Sheila married the love of her life, Michael Stahl, on October 21, 1997, in Las Vegas.
Sheila’s childhood was filled with joy and laughter, growing up in Chicago surrounded by a large and close-knit family. She adored her younger siblings, often orchestrating puppet shows and spirited games of cops and robbers—roles she took seriously, even continuing to keep her siblings in line well into adulthood. Her playful spirit and protective heart were defining traits that shaped her lifelong relationships.
A natural at connecting with people, Sheila's work in hospitality spanned over 40 years, with her final role at The Rainbow Casino. Her warmth turned customers into friends and colleagues into family. Known for her tireless determination, Sheila took pride in proving she could accomplish anything she set her mind to.
Her passions extended beyond work to simple joys like playing bingo, traveling, dancing, watching movies, and getting lost in the pages of a good magazine. She had a rare gift for remembering every person she met—their birthdays, stories, and special moments—making everyone feel uniquely cherished.
Sheila's greatest joy, however, was building a family of her own, a legacy rooted in kindness, tenderness, resilience, and unconditional love. Her life’s work was creating a world where those around her felt seen, heard, and valued.
Sheila's incredibly rich legacy is left to be honored by her devoted husband Michael Stahl, dedicated daughter Christina Stahl, mother Francesca Messina, sister Caroline Smukler, brothers Joey and Billy Oberts, step-father Bill Oberts and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Abrahamson and brother, Sal Oberts.
Sheila’s joyful spirit and unwavering positivity will remain eternally in the hearts of those who knew her. Her memory will forever be a testament to a life lived with heart, humor, and boundless love.
