Scenic, AZ – Siobhan P Dempsey, 73 passed away on June 4th surrounded by her husband,
children, and grandchildren. Siobhan will be remembered as the most selfless and fearless wife,
mother and friend.
Siobhan was born on June 28, 1950, in Derry, Ireland to Seamus and Ethna O’Doherty. She
married Raymond Dempsey on March 17, 1979, in Syracuse, NY.
She left Ireland in 1955 and moved to Canada with her family where they resided for four years.
In 1959, the family moved to Syracuse, NY. Where she graduated from North Syracuse High
School.
Siobhan spent most of her life in Brewerton, NY. raising her eight children. She was a bus driver
for Central Square School District and a Secretary for United Stainless Welding. She retired in
2007 and moved to Scenic AZ, to enjoy her retirement in the warmth and sun of
Arizona/Nevada. She loved to play cards, have dinner dates, and spend time with all of her
friends from Desert Skies.
Siobhan was adored and loved by all that were lucky enough to come into her life. She was the
most courageous, caring, and hard-working person you will ever meet. She instilled this trait in
her children. She enjoyed making beautiful keepsakes in ceramics and macramé, of which
some of her family is lucky enough to still have.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond Dempsey of Scenic, AZ; her children, Martin (Amy)
of Crystal Springs, MS; Scott (Nancie) of Clovis, CA; Patrick (Rosefin) of Longmont, CO;
Michael (Charlene) of Manassas, VA; Kevin (Heather) of Cleveland, NY; Christopher of Port
Salerno, FL; Erin of Cicero, NY; Noel (Holly) of Brewerton, NY, (18) Grandchildren; (4) Great
grandchildren; brothers Pearse O’Doherty (Annice) of Annapolis, MD: Brendan O’Doherty
(Delores) of Nixa. MO.
She is Preceded in death by her parents, Seamus and Ethna O’Doherty, brother Kevin
O’Doherty, and her sister, Deirdre Holler.
