Thomas Bowers

Thomas John Bowers "Tom", age 85 passed away on January 7, 2014. He was born in Chester, West Virginia on June 10, 1928 to Rozetta and Orin Bowers. He had four brothers and sisters Bob, Helen, Bill, and Patty. He is survived by Bill and Patty.

In 1945 Tom enlisted in the United States navy serving three years on the USS Atlanta. After his four year enlistment Tom went on to graduate from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in mathematics and physics. He then earned a master's degree in engineering.

Tom's professional career was spent with the Federal National Weather Service. He rose to become Regional Hydrologist in charge for the Seven State Western Region. Tom retired in 1986 with 39 years of service.

After moving to Boulder City Tom had time to be active in the local B.P.O.E. "Elks and served as Treasurer for many years. He was a life member of the Elks, American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Tom was preceded in death by his son Glen in 2007. He is survived by wife Joyce, sons Thomas and Richard, and daughter Sharon Ludwigsen, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services are pending.

Tom lived a long, happy, and successful life. We who loved and cared for him honor his lifetime of determination and dedication. We know he walks with God and we wish him an eternity of peace and love.
