Thomas Simmers

In loving memory of our husband, brother, father, grandfather and great grandfather Thomas Edward Simmers.  Born to:  Richard Simmers and Elizabeth Musson Simmers in Oak Park, Illinois on June 6, 1942 and passed away on Oct. 21, 2016.  “Tom” is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Karen Simmers; his children Linda, Cindy, Sharon, Tammi and Steven; his brother John and sister Joanne; his 7 grand children; 10 great grand children and so very many other friends and relatives.

Born in Illinois, Tom later moved to California where he met his wife Karen in Reseda, CA.  They were later married on June 23rd, 1972 in Sherman Oaks, CA.  Tom went to Canoga Park High School and then later to Pierce College in Canoga Park, CA.

Tom & Karen were small business owners for 30+ years as sales representatives with a showroom at the California Apparel Mart and traveled the 13 western states together.  Tom loved people and enjoyed mentoring them.  When he spoke to people, he always engaged them in whatever it was they wanted to learn about.  He always kept the conversation going; there was never a dull moment.  He was the one you would go to if you needed an answer to something.  And if he didn’t know the answer, he would research it and come up with it.

Tom loved his family and friends so much, that he researched his family’s genealogy; he started a web page for Canoga Park High School to reconnect friends.  He loved making a difference and bringing people together.  He never said a bad thing about anyone.  He was the most positive person we know.  He told us, “Anything’s possible” and “Never give up”.  He was definitely one of a kind.

He had a strong passion for politics to make America great again.  His favorite thing in the whole world was to learn and know more.  He took an interest in everything.  The most important thing in his life was his Family, and he will be missed by all, and remembered in all of our hearts forever.  Family and friends can sign and online memorial guestbook at www.bouldercityfamilymortuary.com
