Thomas Martin Willey, age 89, of Henderson, Nevada passed away on June 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by family. He was born in Los Angeles, California to Harry and Carrie Willey on March 12, 1926. He married Danette Storrs on March 9, 1944 in San Bernardino, California. A few months later he was inducted into the United States Navy during World War II and served for two years.
Thomas was a great father and very involved in the raising of their six children. He served as little league coach president and team coach for several years. He loved taking his family boating and water skiing. He also enjoyed flying remote control helicopters and airplanes. He also enjoyed helping others and built wrought iron fences for several friends and family members. He worked as a machinist and an engineer in the aerospace industry.
Thomas is survived by four sons Harry Willey, Stephen (Kathy) Willey, Daniel (Teri) Willey, Alan Willey; eleven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Danette Willey; son John James Willey; daughter Ann Marie Stout; and grandson David James Willey.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at 9:20 am at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City NV 89005. Donations in memory of Thomas may be made to St Jude's Research Hospital, PO Box 2151, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38101-2151.
