Wanda was born at Ditt, MO, on December 6, 1925 to Floyd and Addie Cole. Her family moved to OK when she was 15 months old in a covered wagon. She graduated high school in Coweta, OK and was known as one of the counties beauties. She went to work in Tulsa at Douglas Aircraft until the war was over.
She met Landon (Lance) Lansford in Muskogee, OK and was married in 1946. They soon moved to Southern CA where their daughter, Connie Sue was born. In 1950 they moved to Kingman, AZ and in 1954 they moved to Boulder City. They returned to CA for a couple of years in 1956 and 1957 buying into Upland Motors. Two years of owning a car dealership was enough, so back “home” to Boulder City they went. For many years she worked in a yardage store in town. Wanda and Lance were owners of many businesses. They were proud of their involvement in developing Sandy Valley, NV.
Wanda was known for her creativity. She loved to sew, knit, and craft. She was an Eastern Star and worked with the Rainbow Girls for many years. She has always been involved in her community. She belonged to Christian Center Church where she participated in Vacation Bible School and the Women’s Ministry helping to provide meals for weddings and funerals. She was an inspiration to all around her. She participated in exercise classes three times a week and was a “grandmother” to her friends and neighborhood children.
Wanda is survived by her daughter Connie Sue Lansford Jessup. She was preceded in death by her beloved, grandson, Ryder Lee and her husband Lance.
This wonderful woman is loved and will be greatly missed.
