SMSGT Wayne W. Eddowes, U.S.AirForce (Ret.), passed away on Sunday, May 18th, 2014 at Loma Linda VA Hospital. Wayne was born August 14, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA to Warren and Jalinda Errico Eddowes, and grew up in Stockton, New Jersey. He married the love of his life Barbara on April 3, 1971, at the Little Church of the West in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was a Las Vegas resident for more than 38 years. SMSGT Eddowes proudly served in SAC Air Force as a bombardier/navigator on the B-52 in the 98th Bomb Wing and served in TAC Air Force in Vietnam and two tours in Takhli Thailand as an avionics specialist. After his retirement from active duty he went to work for the Dept. of Defense at Nellis AFB in AFETS engineering and technical services until he retired in 1999. Wayne loved his family, golf, fishing, hunting and spending time in Utah at his cabin.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Jalinda Eddowes, brother Leslie, and his sister Joan. He is survived by his loving wife Barbara, daughters, Nicole Eddowes and Sherri (Edward) Eddowes-Plummer; Granddaughters Alexandria Rodriguez and Tyanne (James) Burton; and Great Grandson Jalen Burton. Memorial service will be held in his honor on June 5, 2014 at 12:40 pm at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery at 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive, Boulder City, Nevada 89005.
