William “Bill” Perkins October 16, 1947 – April 16, 2025
Mesquite, NV – William "Bill" Perkins, 77, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in St. George, Utah. He was born on October 16, 1947, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Ermal Perkins and Elsie Wence.
Bill was raised in California and proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from July 1966 to June 1977, including service during the Vietnam War as a radioman. He even had a brief television appearance on the show Hawaii Five-O.
After his military service, Bill became an electrician, a profession he dedicated most of his life to. He also became a certified locksmith, a testament to his love for working with his hands.
On October 24, 1974, Bill married the love of his life, Cheryl Cook, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Bill had many passions throughout his life. He loved Hawaii, bowling, coin collecting, fishing, golfing, and NASCAR. He also enjoyed his work as a slot technician at the Stateline Casino in Mesquite. Above all, he cherished spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Cheryl Perkins of Mesquite, NV; daughter Kathy Stock (John) of Mesquite, NV; son Dean Perkins (Deanne) of San Antonio, TX; daughter Carissa Fidik of Pennsylvania; and sister Marilou Smith of Vancouver, WA. He was also a beloved grandfather, uncle, and friend to many.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ermal and Elsie Perkins; his brother, Richard Perkins; and his sister, Peggy Perkins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 26th at 1:00 PM at Stateline Casino in Mesquite, Nevada.
Bill was an extraordinary man—an adoring husband, devoted father, proud veteran, and treasured friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
