William Theodore Boyd, age 91 of Mesquite, Nevada passed away on August 27, 2022. He was born on February 28, 1931 in FT Madison, Iowa to Paul Ray Boyd and Dorothy Ellen Lamb Boyd. He married Alice Singleton on August 26, 1978 in Anaheim, CA. They moved to Mesquite from Fullerton, California in 2004. Bill served his country in the United States Air Force from 1950 to 1954 during this time he spent time in Turkey listening to communications concerning Korea. After his service he went on to work in the aerospace industry for over 30 years. He worked all over the world with the highest levels of military and government officials and worked on the B2 Bomber.
Bill was a man of amazing faith and enjoyed reading the Bible and writing his thoughts and feeling about the scriptures. Writing was a passion of his and he wrote many articles and also a few books. In his younger years he enjoyed going to the beach with his kids and also camping and riding his motorcycle in the desert. Exercise was part of his life until the very end. He enjoyed riding his bike, running and walking. He was an excellent shot and enjoyed shooting skeet and sporting clays. While in California he started a motorcycle group called the Chaparrals.
Bill is survived by his wife Alice Boyd; two children Wendy (John) Wilson, Darin (Aleas) Boyd; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son Steven Boyd who passed in 2001.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Star Mortuary 320 East Old Mill Rd, Mesquite, NV 89027. Burial will be at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1900 Veterans Memorial Drive Boulder City, NV 89005 on Friday, September 9, 2022, 10:40 a.m. Family and friends can sign an online memorial guestbook at www.starmortuary.com
