William (Bill) David Coombs was born to Esther Lucia Coombs and Preston Wonson Coombs 11/19/1940 in Los Angeles, CA. He was mostly raised by his grandparents and was the much loved only child in the family.
He was an entrepreneur at heart and had two successful businesses, The Gumball Factory and Penny Power Corp. Over the years he was also a farrier, truck driver and a policeman. He was hard working, loved his family and friends, had a wicked sense of humor, loved to travel, camping with mom and always had a dog. He was also a member of several Masonic Organizations and was dedicated to taking care of those around him.
He was married to Jackie Sue Antrikin in 1958 and had four children, Howard, Jack, William and Melissa. In 1981 he married Dorothy Gilbert and gained his fifth child Carolanne. He and mom spent 43 loving years together and celebrated as their 5 children gave them 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his three sons, Howard, Jack and William. He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy, his daughters Melissa (Shawn) and Carolanne (Bri). His grandchildren Alicia, Amber, Tonya, Avery, Quinn, Lily, Christopher, TJ, great grandchildren Logan, Jackson and Maddy and several nieces and nephews from his sisters and brothers in law.
Bill struggled with Parkinson’s Disease for several years and was able to stay in his home in Boulder City, NV with Dorothy doing an amazing job of taking care of him. He passed in his sleep on February 19, 2024, with Paco on his lap and his girls by his side. Rest in peace daddy, we’ve got mom.
